THE PROTEANblue-TM WAVE ENERGY CONVERTER (WEC) TECHNOLOGY

The Proteanwhite-TM Wave Technology design comprises a small, durable ocean buoy that is tethered to a weight on the ocean floor. The design concept utilises a group of buoys, connected and packed closely together to form an array. Multiple arrays can then be combined to form a wave farm.

The technology is designed to efficiently convert all six degrees of wave motion into a usable form of energy and ultimately production of water and electricity.

The Proteanwhite-TM wave energy converter (WEC) design is aimed at producing clean energy and water for island and coastal communities and industries.

Plans for the Proteanwhite-TM WEC include the deployment of a pre-commercial demonstration wave farm, prior to moving the technology into early commercialisation. The five-step program:

  • STEP ONE
    (Complete)

Refine the scale device to produce and demonstrate a suitable pre-commercial model.

  • STEP TWO
    (Work in Progress)

Create a demonstration wave farm based on the pre-commercial model.

  • STEP THREE
    (Future)

Deploy and test the Protean solution for its potential to deliver cost effective energy.

  • STEP FOUR
    (Future)

Verify the results, including commissioning of an independent expert to qualify the testing results.

  • STEP FIVE
    (Future)

Commence pilot commercialisation via trials for small to medium customers.
